Selective repointing, stone repairs, and selective individual stone repair were performed. On the East and West Wings, all the original balusters at the roof cornice were replaced with new Vermont Danby Marble with selective replacement of the lintel stones, pilaster capitals, and column capitals.
On the Northern Annex, the cornice and balustrade was completely surveyed, disassembled and rebuilt with new anchorage and flashing details. All the balusters, along with selected pier, railing and cornice stones have been replaced with new marble to match the existing profiles and stabilize this grand structure.
NER also self performed the exterior staging of the entire façade including areas of scaffolding with loading requirements of 250 pounds per SF. The staging allowed for stone removal and replacement in addition to the roofing, flashing and window repair work for other trades.
