NER Construction proudly sponsored last week’s fundraiser to support Grady’s Gladiators at Searles Castle in Windham, NH. The event raised money to support research for a rare genetic disorder, Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), and bone marrow transplants at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Grady’s Gladiators was created in support of Grady Smith, who was diagnosed with ALD last August at the age of 7. ALD is a brain disorder that damages myelin, a barrier that helps protect the brain’s neurons. While there is no cure, the progression of Grady’s disease remains stable due to a bone marrow transplant and ongoing therapies.
Proceeds from the event raised money for the Grady’s Gladiators team at the 2019 Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk and to support research for ALD and bone marrow transplants at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
