217 Commonwealth Avenue is also known as the Algonquin Club for whom it was designed and built about 140 years ago. The Club recently sold the building to Hexagon Properties who is making major renovations and will operate the Club going forward. It was designed by McKim Mead and White – the same architects as the Boston Public library.

NER is cleaning/restoring the original limestone street facing façade as well as cleaning, repairing, and re-pointing all brick elevations.
