The parapets of both Hastings Hall at Northeastern University and the adjacent YMCA Boston on Huntington Avenue feature a prominent multi-layered terra cotta clad parapet. Embedded an failing steel had undermined the integrity of the parapets. NER disassembled the existing parapet, documenting the terra cotta for replication and disposing of the brick backup wall, rebuilt the parapet per structural requirements and re-clad the parapet in new, multi-colored terra cotta to replicate the existing parapet.
